5 Reasons I’m a Meal Prep Fan

My Meal Prep Perspective

Meal Prep : Spring 2022

I’ve been meal prepping for almost a decade and I will NEVER go back to cooking every single day. Ever! This is my Meal Prep Perspective.

Here are the top 5 reasons I love preparing food in one big batch:

1. Save Money
Meal Prep is a GIANT money saver! Not only can you save money on eating out, you can buy foods in bulk, spending less going back and forth to the grocery store (which also makes this more eco-friendly, wink wink).

2. Save Time
Set aside one day and time to cook everything, or break it up into two days. Either way, you can cook AND clean minimally throughout the week.

3. Clear Mental Space
This is arguably the most meaningful reason I advocate for meal prepping…In a busy week I never have to consider what I’ll eat for a meal. The peace and freedom ALONE are worth it….not worrying about “what’s for lunch” or “do I have all the ingredients to make dinner when I get home from work and I’m exhausted?” It’s also much easier to make eating less emotional because I’m tired and want something convenient.

4. Love to Cook
I love to create elaborate, delicious meals but that is not always feasible during a busy week. Cooking in one day helps to soothe my chef’s soul.

5. Aligns with Health and Fitness Goals
Depending on my health and fitness goals, I can easily plan for the entire week. Keeping me on track and accountable to the goal I have in mind.

If you’ve considered meal prepping but haven’t fully committed yet, I would encourage you to try it for a few weeks and see if it’s for you!
