4 Ingredient Salty and Sweet Dessert: Toffee Bars
If you are looking for the perfect combination of salty and sweet, look no further! This 4 ingredient dessert will be a crowd favorite instantly. This is a family recipe from my mother and is always my favorite holiday dessert. My family knows this dessert as “toffee bars” but I’ve heard other Midwest families refer to it as “poor man’s toffee” or “christmas crack”, but these names seem a bit derogatory in my opinion. Alas, it is sure to become your new favorite, despite the name you give it. :)

1 box of saltine crackers
2 sticks butter (or butter substitute to make it vegan)
¾ cup brown sugar
12 oz choc chips
optional: sprinkle of flaky salt
Directions
1. Preheat oven to 350.
2. Line cookie sheet with foil and cover with a single layer of saltine crackers.
